Goodbye Saigon, Hello Da Lat

02/07
Up early, dragged the bag along the road to where we had to catch our bus.  We got in early before the ants with helmets surfaced and make the roads a "dodgem" track.

The bus left at 7:30am.  It was a long trip approximately 8 to 9 hours.  You drive through some of the most stunning countryside.  The mountain passes we climbed made the uncomfortable trip worth it.

Oh dear the hotel I booked is about 2Km from the centre of town - all UPHILL!!!!  Looking at it while driving to the hotel our hearts sank.  Frank was not impressed and did not think he would be able to walk up the hills to get to town!

We had supper at the hotel and retired for the night!

03/07
Awoke early to a lovely cool misty morning!  It looked and felt like home!  After breakfast we attempted the hills which were not as bad as we had envisaged.  Actually the cooler weather helped a lot!  The incredible heat of everywhere else just drains the energy from you before you start.

We walked around the town centre and market before we started heading back to the hotel.  We made a detour (yes another uphill) to see the convent and its orchid garden.

Unfortunately most of Da Lat's sights have to be done with tours and we were not there long enough, so we just enjoyed the very pleasant weather.
